Former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson (48-12-2, 33 KOs) dealt a four round beating to Aaron Norwood (26-10-2, 13 KOs) on Tuesday night at the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida. Johnson slowly broke down Norwood, punishing the outgunned Hattiesburg, Mississippi native with an assortment of hard, damaging shots. The game Norwood refused to go down but referee Brian Garry made the right decision when finally waved off the bout at 1:20 of round four. Johnson is currently ranked #2 by the WBC, #5 by the WBA, #6 by the IBF. This was his first bout since losing a controversial decision to Chad Dawson in April. With his 40th birthday looming on January 2, "The Road Warrior" is hoping to land a deserved big fight as soon as possible.

In a surprise, WBC #14 middleweight contender James McGirt Jr. (19-1-1, 9 KOs) and Marcus Upshaw (8-3-1, 3 KOs) battled to a ten round draw. The highly regarded southpaw McGirt seemed like he would finish the bout in short order after dropping Upshaw with a straight left in round one. But Upshaw's awkward style proved to give McGirt fits as the bout progressed. Over the second half of the fight, Upshaw gained steam often landed the sharper blows. In the last 30 seconds of the bout Upshaw knocked down McGirt, but Upshaw failed to launch a vicious follow up attack in the closing moments. This likely cost him as two judges scored the bout 94-94 while the third had Upshaw in front 95-93.
